TecHome Electrical - Terms of Trade
These Terms of Trade ("Terms") apply to all electrical services, supply of materials, and related work carried out by TecHome Electrical ("we", "us", "our") for any client ("you", "your"). By engaging TecHome Electrical, you agree to these Terms.
1. Scope of Work
We will provide electrical services and materials as agreed in writing, by quote, estimate, email, or other documented communication. Any additional work requested outside the agreed scope may incur extra costs.
2. Quotes & Estimates

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Estimates are an approximation only and may vary depending on site conditions, material costs, or unforeseen circumstances.

Any variations must be approved by you and will be charged accordingly.
3. Pricing & Payment

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and exclude GST unless stated otherwise.

A deposit may be required before work begins.

Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed.

Late payments may incur:

Interest at 2.5% per month, and/or
-
Recovery costs, including debt collection fees.

4. Materials & Ownership

Materials remain the property of TecHome Electrical until full payment is received.

We reserve the right to remove unpaid materials from site.
5. Access to Property
You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the worksite. Delays caused by lack of access may result in additional charges.
6. Health & Safety
We follow all obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. If unsafe conditions are present, work may be delayed until hazards are resolved.
7. Workmanship Guarantee

All work is completed to NZ electrical standards, including NZS 3000.

Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months.

Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied products.

Damage caused by misuse, alterations by others, or external faults is excluded.
8. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:

Provide accurate information and instructions.

Ensure the site is ready for work.

Obtain any consents we are not contracted to handle.
9. Variations & Unexpected Issues
If unforeseen issues arise (e.g., hidden wiring faults, inaccessible cabling, structural issues), additional time and materials may be required and changed accordingly.
10. Liability

We are not liable for delays caused by weather, supply issues, or third-party contractors.

We are not responsible for consequential losses, including loss of business or income.

Our liability is limited to the value of the work performed.
11. Cancellation Policy

Work cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled start may incur a call-out or cancellation fee.

Special-order materials may be charged if already purchased.
12. Electrical Compliance
Where required, a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) or Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC) will be issued upon completion in accordance with NZ regulations.
13. Privacy
Your personal information is used only for communication, billing, and project purposes. We do not share your details except where required by law.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes should be raised with us in writing within 10 days of invoice or completion. We aim to resolve issues promptly and fairly.
15. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging TecHome Electrical, accepting a quote, or allowing work to proceed, you agree to these Terms of Trade.
